
This week, we're proud to recognize the contributions of our JCS community to computer science education. Thank you to the teachers and staff dedicated to inspiring our students in this field while working to make computer science education accessible to all learners!


Congratulations to Ellen Kemp, Nick Krywcun, and Britt Shoedel of Jefferson High on being named to West Virginia's All-State Band! This recognition is among the highest honors an individual high school musician can achieve. The three students will travel to Charleston, WV, on March 1 to rehearse with a renowned conductor and perform in the All-State Band concert on March 4. Well done, Cougars!


There will be an organizational meeting for the JHS volleyball boosters on Monday, December 12th at 6:30 PM in the JHS cafeteria. We will elect officers and discuss bylaws. this meeting is open to anyone that wants to support JHS volleyball. We hope to see you there.

National Special Education Day commemorates the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) into law in 1975, granting children with special needs access to free and quality public education. Today we recognize and celebrate our incredible special education community at JCS with a heartfelt THANK YOU to the teachers and aides who serve some of our most exceptional learners. 💙💛💙💛

Eighth graders from Shepherdstown, Wildwood, and Harpers Ferry Middle Schools visited JHS today in preparation for their freshman year of high school! Students learned about Career Technical Education (CTE) programs and electives, and connected with JHS students, teachers, and administration while touring the school. Thanks to our JHS community for welcoming these future Cougars!

Nov. 7, 2022: Jefferson High School received a report of a safety threat at approximately 8:25 this morning. Administrators immediately contacted law enforcement, who launched an investigation and determined there is no danger to students or staff. We are grateful for the quick response of law enforcement and appreciate the diligence of our school community to stay alert for any potential threats.
