If you would like for your senior to be included in the Senior Sunset slideshow, please send a baby picture along with a senior picture to Shelley Schafer at mschafer@k12.wv.us. Please be sure to include your student's first and last name in the email. Pictures are due no later than April 14th.

April 19, 2022: Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A. Let them know your order is with the Senior Class at Jefferson High School and proceeds will benefit Senior activities such as graduation.

April 11, 2022: Seniors can pick up their cap and gown during their lunch shift. If you are unable to pick them up during lunch, please see Mrs. Schafer at the attendance window.

National Honor Society invites all sophomores, juniors and seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA to apply for NHS membership. Complete applications including 2 letters of recommendations from leaders outside JHS and an essay due at 3 PM on Friday, 1 April 2022. Linked here are the student application and the instructions. High school juniors at Jefferson and Washington High Schools will take the SAT on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. To help create the best environment possible during testing, all high school students in grades 9, 10, and 12 will participate in an asynchronous learning day on Wednesday, March 23. Teachers will share information about how to access assignments and materials. Bus transportation for 11th graders will continue as scheduled that day.

Congratulations to the Jefferson High School boys basketball team on a fantastic season and an impressive run in the WVSSAC State Championship. You make us proud, Cougars!

Congrats to Collin Guedel, Samuel Corum, Eli Dillow, Kyle de Nobel, Zoe Bailey, and Lucca Parker on their wins at the Regional Math Field Day competition on March 14! They will now advance to the state competition at WVU on April 23. Way to go, Cougars!

And they're off! The Jefferson High Boys Basketball Team is headed to Charleston to compete in the Class AAAA State Tournament! Currently ranked No. 2, JHS is one of two unbeaten teams remaining in the state. They'll take on No. 7 Cabell Midland tomorrow at 1 p.m. Go Cougars!

The Jefferson High School Girls Basketball Team is heading to Charleston for the Class AAAA state tournament! The Cougars got a big send-off as they departed for the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center Wednesday. No. 6 Jefferson begins tournament play Thursday morning at 9:30 against the No. 3 seed Wheeling Park. Let's Go Cougars!


Congrats to Jefferson High School's 2nd period Jazz Ensemble on their first-place win at the West Virginia State Jazz Festival! The group was designated High School Honor Jazz Ensemble by the West Virginia Bandmasters Association and performed at the West Virginia Music Educators Conference in Charleston last week. And in another big win, Jefferson High's 5th period Jazz Ensemble earned the second-place spot at the jazz festival! It's the first time in the event's history that the top two bands in the state came from the same school. Go Cougars!
