CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Washington High School students enrolled in Companion Animal Care participated in the inaugural Patriot Classic Dog Show on February 13. Students kicked off their dog unit by learning about dog breeds and then showcased their knowledge by creating life-size dogs to show. They wrote bios that reflected their dog's breed and personality based on their research.
They competed for best in group and overall best in show during a mock dog show in the Media Center with a live audience. Jefferson County Schools Director of Responsive Education Dirk Webb and Washington High's Instructional Coach Emily Gregson served as judges for the event.
Mila Catrow with her Pembroke Welsh Corgi, McGracesQueenoftheCattle took Best in Show, and Honorable Mention went to Julie Fincham and her Dalmation, JBFinchamFlamingFireball21.
