
2020-2021 yearbooks are being distributed during all three lunch shifts this week.

Meet the Teacher night will take place on Thursday September 2nd.
Parents of students with last names A-L are invited to attend from 6:00pm to 6:45pm. Parents of students with last names M-Z are invited from 7:00pm to 7:45pm. Please do plan to attend the full 45 minute slot as this is a structured evening where you will follow your child's schedule in order to meet each teacher.

Picture day at WHS is Tuesday August 31st.
Pictures will be taken in English classes. Students have received order forms and should bring order form and payment with them on picture day. These photos will be used for Student IDs and underclassmen yearbook photos.


WHS Performing at the Fair
The WHS Band will be performing at the fair on TUESDAY August 24th at 7:30pm
The WHS Show Choir will be performing at the fair on SATURDAY August 28th at 7:00pm

Jefferson Virtual Academy Device Distribution
Device pick-up for students confirmed for JVA enrollment will be held Friday, Aug 20th, at the Jefferson High School cafeteria. Devices will be distributed alphabetically by last name:
1:00 A-D
2:00 E-K
3:00 L-Q
4:00 R-Z
There will be additional opportunities for device pick up next week for families unable to attend on Friday.

Schedules will be available for pick up in the front of WHS on Friday 8:30-11:30am and 1-2pm. They will also be available on Saturday from 8:30-10am.

The robots have taken over the JCS Summer Experience!! These future engineers and scientists made some great projects this week. We've had a lot of fun learning with STEM!





Thanks to Appalachian Storyteller Adam Booth, who visited the JCS Summer Experience Tuesday. He spoke to students and staff about our wild and wonderful state and region!

Parking permit applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be available during yearbook distribution. Hard copies will also be available in the front of the school starting on Monday, August 2.

Congratulations to Frankie Amore from Washington High School! Frankie was named the West Virginia High School Sports Awards Boys Track & Field Athlete Of The Year by USA TODAY! Congratulations also go out to Washington High School's dedicated track coaches! The West Virginia High School Sports Awards are part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. Catch Frankie on the national awards show that premieres on Thursday, Aug. 5!



JCS Summer Experience Middle school students got a chance to learn with Sergeant Conway and K-9 Bandit from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday. We really appreciate them stepping up to help make this a great summer for kids!
