Chronic Absenteeism is a data metric that JCS and the WV Department of Education use to determine if a student may be at risk for academic and social concerns at school. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of school days, including both excused and unexcused absences. Striving for Less Than 5! Absences each semester will ensure that your student is not chronically absent at the end of each semester.

"Good morning, Patriots! Just a quick reminder that Picture Day is next Wednesday, August 27th. Here’s how it will work: Students will go to the gym with their Social Studies classes to get their photo taken. When you arrive, you’ll check in with a yearbook staffer and then sit for your photo. Once everyone in your group is photographed, your teacher will take you back to class. If you don’t have a Social Studies class in the building, you can come for your photo at either: 8:40 AM or 2:30 PM Smile big and dress your best—these photos go in the yearbook!"
