Jefferson County Schools encourages all students and families to ensure that they are not chronically absent. Being chronically absent is missing 10% or more of school days for any reason, unexcused and excused. As of January 21st, of this school year, students are chronically absent if they have missed more than 9 days of school. Strive to be in school all day, every school day during January.
If it is necessary for a student to be absent, please remember to submit your absence and/or doctor's note for the absence as soon as possible when the student returns to school. Notes can be submitted by paper note or through the absence note online form found on the home page of the JCS website and the school’s home webpage.

JCS Families: All JCS schools will be dismissed two hours early tomorrow, Friday, December 20, for Faculty Senate. Reminder: Winter Break begins on Monday, December 23, with students returning to school on Monday, January 6, 2025. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Winter Break.
JCS will operate on a 2-hour delay on Monday, December 16, 2024. JCS staff will continue monitoring the weather and road conditions through the evening and into the morning. Any change will be communicated by 6:30 am.
