The Senior Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17 at 1pm in the WHS Auditorium. Additionally, Seniors have received forms from their Social Studies teachers to list any scholarships they have received and are to turn those forms into the Counseling office, and if they were absent when the forms were passed out, they can pick a blank one up in the Counseling office.

As a reminder, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be completed by visiting >> studentaid.gov The application is required for a student to receive any kind of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and/or student loans to help pay for post-secondary learning. The WV Promise Scholarship, which offers up to $5,200 per year for four years for students attending a college/university within the state of West Virginia, is an amazing opportunity to help with tuition costs. The FAFSA is required in addition to the Promise Scholarship application, so do not delay in submitting your application! The deadline to get your Promise Application + FAFSA submitted is May 1. Various other scholarships require submission of the FAFSA, as well. Good morning Patriots! This is your reminder that the WV Higher Education Grant deadline is fast-approaching! Please visit the College for WV website ( https://www.collegeforwv.com/programs/wv-higher-education-grant/ ) for more information. In order to apply for the Higher Ed grant, you need to complete and submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by APRIL 15, 2023. Once you've successfully submitted your FAFSA, you will automatically be considered for this need-based financial aid program. There is no need to fill out an additional application, but you will want to make sure you have a WV Student Aid Management ( WVSAM ) account because you can check the status of the grant and whether or not you will be receiving it within the portal on the College for WV website. This is an excellent opportunity to earn additional aid for college after you leave Washington so get your FAFSA completed today!

This is a reminder that tomorrow, 3/22, is SAT day at Washington High School. Freshmen, sophomores, and seniors will NOT report to campus to ensure a secure testing environment at the school for juniors taking the test. ATTENTION: The boil water notice for Charles Town and Ranson will extend through Thursday, 3/9. JCS will again provide bottled water for Washington High, Charles Town Middle, Wright Denny Intermediate, OLC, and Ranson Elementary Schools. We encourage anyone who can safely bring water from home to do so again. Thank you to our incredible staff in the JCS Maintenance Department, who worked quickly to provide schools with water today and made sure they would be ready for Thursday.
