
🏀⛹️♀️The Washington High School Girls Basketball team is on the way to Charleston for the WVSSAC Girls Basketball State Tournament. There are 32 teams playing in the five-day, 28-game tournament that begins on March 7 at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. No. 8 ranked Washington tips off against No. 1 ranked Wheeling Park in the Class AAAA quarterfinal Tuesday at 5:30 PM. Go Patriots!⭐🎉




Congratulations to Kai Plinski for winning the WV State Wresting Championship over the weekend. This is the first time a freshman from WHS has won this event.

Congratulation to Mrs. Stuntz for being named the WV Counselor of the Year! She will be recognized in Morgantown this week.


The WHS Jazz Ensemble performed as the WV Honor Band at the WVMEA Conference last Thursday. This was the first time WHS has received this honor.


March 22 is SAT day at Washington High School. Freshmen, sophomores, and Seniors will NOT report to campus that day so our staff can provide a secure testing environment at the school for juniors taking the test. Students on remote learning will receive instructions and assignments ahead of time and in Canvas.

Greenhouse Production and Management students wrapped up their floral design unit on Monday. Students have been learning about the history, colors, elements, and tools of floral design. Students then used their knowledge to create beautiful arrangements to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Feb. 7, 2023: A Washington High School student was struck by a car in the school parking lot this morning. WHS staff immediately secured the area and provided aid. Although the student did not present any visible injuries, in an abundance of caution, an ambulance responded to the scene and transported the student to the hospital. As always, safety is our highest priority. We appreciate our emergency responders, staff, students, and community for their partnership and support.

Rumsey will be in session tomorrow, February 6, 2023. Buses will run on their normal schedule to transport students.
